Cambridge City Football Club is today announcing a partnership between their Supporters Trust and East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH). The charity, who has HRH The Duchess of Cambridge as their royal patron, supports families and cares for children with life threatening conditions across mid-Anglia. Their hospices are designed to be fun and happy places where young people can live life to their full potential.
The link between the club and the charity will include representatives from EACH attending games throughout the season where in addition to fundraising bucket collections children from EACH will be invited to be mascots for the day. In addition to this the club and their new charity partner will also jointly host several other fundraising events throughout the season.
Alice Dewey from the City Supporters Trust said “It is a great partnership to create for both of us. The club is constantly looking to raise its awareness and increase their community profile which is even more important with the move to the new stadium at Sawston on the horizon”.
Peter Law, EACH Cambridgeshire Community Fundraiser, said: “We are thrilled that Cambridge City Football Club has chosen EACH as their charity partners and I’d like to thank them for this generous support and we very much look forward to working with them. The charity is reliant on voluntary donations for the majority of our income so without the support of local businesses like Cambridge City Football Club we would simply not be able to continue to provide these vital services to families at a time when they need it the most.”
